Self-development is not just essential but is very critical to personal growth, In June 2024, I attended the Media Entrepreneurship 2024 Fellowship organized by the Africa Foundation For Young Media Professionals (AFYMP). The fellowship brought together 25 media entrepreneurs to explore the possibilities of building viable newsrooms while telling impactful stories.
The fellowship was not just another training; it was the fuel I needed to ignite my media entrepreneurial dream. Inspired by the lessons from the sessions, on creating unique content and navigating the ever-changing media landscape, I decided it was time to act.

In August 2024, ”Weddings and Ayeye” was born—a platform dedicated to showcasing love stories, cultural weddings, and the joys of celebrations. You can call it a lifestyle and entertainment channel. Some months later, I started thinking about magazine journalism with ”Weddings and Ayeye”.
With a passionate team of volunteers, we started small, relying solely on our social media pages to connect with our audience. Today, we have grown remarkably. Not only do we have active and vibrant social media communities, but we also launched a fully functional website and recently debuted our first e-magazine, Weddings and Ayeye Digest. The reception has been gradually phenomenal, with everyone buzzing about the fresh perspectives and exciting content we bring to the table.

At Weddings and Ayeye, few things are important which include promoting cultural heritage. developing and making luxury content accessible to every one. So far, this journey has shown me that with the right knowledge, collaboration, and determination, dreams can become reality. I am forever grateful to the AFYMP and its partners for planting this seed of possibility. The story doesn’t end here—Weddings and Ayeye is my way of bringing journalism into the event industry – not just talking about culture, people and weddings, but preserving cultural traditions and protocols that are dear to Africans- institution of marriage.
A new product ‘Weddings and Ayeye Digest’ has also been launched and this will be followed by a podcast!
The podcast is a dynamic platform where we explore untold stories of weddings, cultural heritage, relationships, and event trends. Through intimate conversations and expert insights, we aim to inspire and inform engaged partners, couples, vendors, and lovers of culture.
