Babcock University has begun construction on a temporary site for a new Faculty of Engineering sciences. The construction of this site commenced in January 2022 and is located beside the University’s Maintenance and Fire Services Building.

A representative of Fagorite Ventures, the company in charge said the building is being constructed to aid the commencement of the study of Engineering Sciences at Babcock University.

He added that the building is already at its completion stage as the only thing left is the interlocking of bricks for the external floors which is handled by the university’s Block Industry in conjunction with Babcock Investment Group (BIG).

He further stated that the new faculty is still under check for accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and will by God’s grace welcome the first set of Engineering students by October 2022.

Also, he mentioned that this site is only a temporary site as the permanent site is undergoing construction at Iperu, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State, and will be completed before June 2023 when the new Engineering freshmen will be entering their 200 level.

In an interview with Mr. Abraham, the Director in charge of the brick interlocking unit of BIG said that he and his workers have been working on the interlocking of the bricks since early August and will complete the interlocking in the next two weeks.
