Gov Ayade through the state’s Pollution Control agency had warned that those littering the streets with all sorts of waste on the major roads in Xalabar and other urban cities in the state. Gov Ayade said eaving the dustbins provided by the Waste Management Agency and littering the street will attract heavy fine.
For this, Gov ayade strongly cautioned those who engage in this habit to desist from the act as a team of security operatives have been mandated to arrest any person caught polluting the environment with these acts.
The Cross River State Governor, Sen Ben Ayade had also frowned at and expressed his displeasure of roadside roasted corn sellers on the major routes of Calabar metropolis.
The Chairman in charge of Pollution Control Agency in the State, Barr. Tony Adinye said “in a bid to urgently sanitize the Metropolis of every form of environmental pollution and bring decency to the aesthetics our State has naturally been blessed with, all hawkers and corn sellers along the Murtala Mohammed Highway and other major routes within the metropolis are by this notice instructed to relocate to interior streets on or before August 1, 2022.
He added that “Failure to comply with this deadline will be met with arrest and severe sanctions.”
