An exciting highlight of the month of July every year is the International Chess Day. All over the world, Chess enthusiasts will celebrate the wonderful game that brings us all together.

The International Chess Day is celebrated annually on 20 July, the day the International Chess Federation was founded, in 1924. The idea to celebrate this day as the international chess day was proposed by UNESCO, and it has been celebrated as such since 1966, after it was established by FIDE.

Unarguably, Chess is one of the most ancient, intellectual and cultural games, with a combination of sport, scientific thinking and elements of art. As an affordable and inclusive activity, it can be exercised anywhere and played by all class of people.

According to report, FIDE rankings put Russia at the top, with the U.S. coming in second place, and China in third.

It’s also beautiful to know that most schools in the Country have included a learning session of the Chess game in their extra-curriculum activities for their pupils.

In view of this year’s celebration, you can learn and play the Game of Chess, Organize a human Chess Game, Lunch time out with friends and family, Watch a film about Chess,

Youtube has also made it possible to learn how to play by watching numerous lessons online.

Happy International Chess Day to you in Advance!
