Two suspected armed robbers named wisdom Obano aged 21 years and Joshua Stephen 20 year old have been napped over the weekend by the Eagle-Net Patrol Police Team of Delta State.
The police officers who were on a stop-and-search duty along the Sapele-Warri Expressway, arrested the two suspected armed robbers with a gun found in their possession.
It was disclosed in a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Stat, DSP Bright Edafe, that the police officers intercepted an Audi Saloon car with Reg. no. QA 480 UGH, carrying the two suspects who looked suspicious.
The PPRO disclosed that the police team subjected them to a search during which one locally made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from them and that while investigations were still on-going, the two suspects have been arrested.
Similarly, while on a stop-and-search duty along the Owawha/Okwagbe road on Wednesday, the police recovered a Lexus jeep which was reportedly snatched from its owner along Ughelli-Warri Road in Delta State.
The police disclosed that they noticed the U-turn of the car which speed off immediately and this aroused the suspicion of the policemen who gave them a hot chase, eventually, the snatched Lexus 350 SUV with reg. no. LG 31 GRA was retrieved.
They added that the vehicle was abandoned by the hoodlums while they escaped into the bush. One pump action gun, two locally made guns and six rounds of live cartridges were recovered after a complete search of the vehicle. Investigations later revealed that the vehicle had earlier been snatched by the hoodlums from the owner along Ughelli-Warri Road.
